Condition Survey

As outlined here in more detail, one of the immediate essential next steps for TOCAG remains to carry out a comprehensive condition survey of the tower. It is critical that as an organisation we know what state the tower is in, and how much it will cost to maintain it for the next 10-15 years so that we can develop and start to implement a business plan. Apart from anything else, this will also be a fascinating modern record of the tower.

We have now received four tenders for this work from

  1. Cliveden Conservation
  2. Hutton and Rostron
  3. RH Partnership
  4. Richard Griffiths Architects

Funding and enabling services have been agreed jointly with English Heritage and The Diocese of St Albans, and we plan to meet w/c 23rd Jan to discuss these responses and how we can move forward to selecting a partner and implementing the work
