Midsummer Service 22nd June

Recently, the Revd. Amanda Duncan made a wonderful offer to host a short informal midsummer service the Old Church Site on Saturday 22nd June 6PM, followed by a picnic gathering

Those of you who have seen the February edition of Village Life or read ‘Around Cold Christmas’ may already be aware this was an annual event up until the 1970s, including the accompaniment of the Ware Brass Band – and whilst we are not going to manage that this time, we are also trying to arrange some choral and musical accompaniment.

Christopher Melluish has generously offered to make parking available at Thundridge Hill House, and also the gardens for the picnic, or the barn if weather is inclement.

Can I ask you, even if you cannot come, to publicise this as widely as you can – tell your friends, family and anyone else; print the poster and get them up on your local notice boards.

I cannot emphasise enough the importance of showing that the community really cares about the church, and a good turnout would be a wonderful opportunity to do this, even if you just pop in for a short time.

Any other offers of help or suggestions are always very welcome.
